"The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" Movie Screening
Please join the Minority and International Scientists Organization to watch and chat about the silver screen adaptation to the best seller! Henrietta Lacks was an African American woman who died of cervical cancer in the 1950s. Her cells (HeLa) were used, with her or her family's knowledge or consent, for biomedical research. This story takes us on a journey to discover who Henrietta Lacks was and how her cells contributed to the scientific community. Snacks and refreshments will be provided! Email miso@bu.edu to RSVP. All are welcome!
