Humanities in the Real World: a workshop for graduate students with Anne Krook
The BU Center for the Humanities is presenting "Humanities in the Real World: a workshop for graduate students with Anne Krook. Anne Krook began her career as an assistant professor at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. After moving to Seattle, she joined Amazon.com where she held various roles in US and international website development, program management, internal audit, and infrastructure. She then worked as VP of Operations at the startup, Mindbloom, and then as VP of Operations at Synapse. This 3-hour workshop teaches graduate students and postdocs how their PhD degrees are viewed on the non-academic job market, how to prepare to enter that market while in graduate school, including how to identify their skills and write a resume on that basis, and the mechanics of searching for jobs. Participants may sign-up for one-on-one sessions on Friday. Refreshments provided. RSVP to buch@bu.edu appreciated; walk-ins welcome. Co-sponsored by the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and The Center for Career Development.
