Voice Master Class by Hector Vasquez
A master class by baritone and voice professor at University of Houston Hector Vasquez will take place at Boston University CFA Opera Institute on September 29th from 1 to 3pm at 808 Comm. Ave. (Essex Street entrance), suite 204. Everyone is welcome to audit the class. Hector Vasquez will performance in Manuel de Falla’s El Retablo del Maese Pedro at Sanders Theatre on October 2nd at 7:30pm. He has sung leading roles at the Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Diego, Cleveland, Orlando, and Houston Grand Opera in addition to his appearances as baritone soloist with Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Houston Philharmonic/Symphony Orchestras, among others. His teaching experiences include his appointments as Adjunct Voice Professor at the University of Southern California and California State University, Los Angeles, as well as having served as an Opera America clinician. He has judged many national and international competitions. The master class is organized as part of the opera that will take place at Sanders Theatre on October 2nd at 7:30pm: El Retablo de Maese Pedro or Master Peter’s Puppet Show, which goal is to engage a greater audience in a conversation with Cervantes’ masterpiece and the Spanish-speaking communities.
