Conversations with Christopher Ricks: Giving Beckett a Hearing - Cascando
Two radio plays by Samuel Beckett followed by a discussion with Christopher Ricks. This conversation focuses on Beckett’s Cascando with David Warrilow & Sean Barrett. Music by Humphrey Searle. “Relying on the composer to create half the drama and one of the major character. And whenever the score varies, the play varies” (Everett Frost). “Music always wins”, in Beckett’s words.
