The renowned husband-and-wife filmmakers have been Oscar-nominated and won Best Documentary at Sundance. They devoted six years to shooting Raising Renee, a truly heartwarming story of African-American artist, Beverly McIver, forced to alter an independent life to watch over Renee, her severely retarded sister. However, there are great rewards hanging with Renee—for Beverly, and for the transfixed audience.
