Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration
All members of the BUMC and BMC community are invited to celebrate the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On this occasion, one month after the passing of Nelson Mandela, it is fitting to reflect on the life of the South African leader, who like Martin Luther King, Jr., fought for the same ideals on a different continent. With unprecedented candor, Dr. Ravin Davidoff will describe his transformation from growing up as a blissfully unaware privileged white South African to being enlightened and inspired by King and Mandela. Dr. Davidoff is Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Boston University School of Medicine, and BMC’s Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs.A classical short piano performance by concert pianist Moises Fernandez Via will follow.Refreshments will be served.
