Aaron Spelling: A Retrospective of Prime-Time Success
Join the Gotlieb Center for the opening reception of the new major exhibition of the work of legendary television & film producer Aaron Spelling. Aaron Spelling: A Retrospective of Prime-Time Success features material from the Aaron Spelling Collection housed at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center. The event will feature a cocktail reception with remarks from Mr. Spelling's wife, author, producer and philanthropist Candy Spelling & actor and SAG-AFTRA president Ken Howard. The exhibition opens to the public on Monday, October 7, 2013. THE EVENT IS FREE BUT RSVPS ARE REQUIRED, PLEASE RSVP TO 617-353-3697. Aaron Spelling is one of television's most prolific producers, with a record of more than 4,300 hours of television programming, including over 266 hours of movies for television. After forming Thomas-Spelling Productions with Danny Thomas, Mr. Spelling produced several successful television shows, including The Mod Squad and The Rookies. In 1976, he released the hit ABC movie The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, starring a young John Travolta. Under the banner of Spelling Entertainment, Mr. Spelling produced such iconic television series as Charlie's Angels, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Starsky and Hutch, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, Fantasy Island, Dynasty, Charmed,Twin Peaks and 7th Heaven. He also produced the Emmy Award-winning HBO miniseries And the Band Played On and the television movie Day One.
