White House Internship Program
Interested in a career in politics? Do you dream of working at the White House? The White House Internship Program might be for you. Join the CCD for an interactive workshop, hosted by Pratik Desai (CAS'12), a BU alum who participated in the program. Learn what it was like for him to intern with the White House Office of Management and Administration, his day-to-day responsibilities, and more. About the White House Internship Program: The White House Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office, and prepare them for future public service opportunities. About Pratik Desai: An alumnus of Boston University, Pratik Desai graduated from CAS in 2012 with a double major in International Relations and Political Science. Throughout his time at BU, Pratik was active in student life, serving as a Resident Assistant, an executive board member of several student organizations, and a CAS Dean's Host. In the fall of 2012, Pratik worked as an intern with the White House Office of Management and Administration, where he managed the Internship Office's policy and community service programming and supported external relations and outreach. Following this, Pratik worked to facilitate program development with an international development non-profit organization based in Washington, DC. Pratik is currently serving a year-long fellowship as a 2013-2014 AmeriCorps Resident in Social Enterprise with New Sector Alliance. In this role, he is serving as the Communications Manager for Raising A Reader MA, an organization that works to increase literacy rates and promote lifelong reading habits for children in the Commonwealth.
