Grizzly Man Screening – BUFS Man vs. Nature Series
Join the BUFS as we screen two films, both on the theme of Man vs. Nature. Auteur Terrence Malick's seminal film Days of Heaven emphasizes man's brutality toward nature, while Werner Herzog's award winning documentary, Grizzly Man, shows nature's brutality toward man. The series concludes with Grizzly Man. This heartrending documentary is crafted from the found footage of Timothy Treadwell, a grizzly bear activist killed in October of 2003 while living among grizzlies in Alaska. Herzog narrates the film and interviews the people in Treadwell's life to try to understand: Why? BU's Classical Civilization professor and frequent Herzog collaborator, Herbert Golder, will introduce the film! This event will count as Cinematheque Credit for Film & TV students.
