Redstone Film Festival West

The Redstone Festival is sponsored by Sumner Redstone (HON'94), the Chairman of VIACOM, and features the best student short film projects of 2012. Each project is written and directed by graduate and undergraduate students from Boston University's Department of Film and Television. At Redstone West, the finalists are screened by a panel of prominent professionals selected from the film and television industry. Cash prizes are given to first, second and third place finishers. This festival also features the Alumni Short Film Contest. The winning alum will be awarded a cash prize for excellence in filmmaking. Last year’s winners include Padrick Ritch (Limbus), Ron Utin Lalkin (Guppy Love), Julian Cornwell and Harry Joseph (Long Way Home) and Jim Dandee (The Runner). The winner of the Alumni Short Film Contest was Bill Folman (’04) with Selling the Scandal Plan.
