Redstone Film Festival
Sponsored by Sumner Redstone, Chairman of VIACOM, the Redstone Film Festival is recognized as one of New England’s premiere film and television events. The Redstone Film Festival features film projects written and directed by graduate and undergraduate students from the Boston University’s College of Communication. Each year the highly anticipated festival plays to a sell-out audience of students and friends from across the BU community. The top three films and cash prizes are awarded the night of the event: • 1st place: $2,000 • 2nd place: $1,000 • 3rd place: $500 Over the years, Redstone winners and finalists have turned out to be some of America’s most successful directors, screenwriters and producers. Many films screened at the Redstone festival have been nominated and won in film festivals all around the world, and two have even earned Academy Award nominations.
