Eat For Equity: Women for Women International
Every semester, the Harriet E. Richards Cooperative House hosts an event called Eat for Equity to raise money and awareness for a non-profit. This semester, we're teaming up with the newly established BU Women for Women International group to present Women for Women International, a non-profit that provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies. We're focusing on three(ish) countries in three regions of the world: Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Nigeria. There will be a museum aspect on each country's background/culture, conflict, and ways that Women for Women International are empowering the women who are victims of the conflict. There will also be FOOD that is representative of each country. The suggested donation is $5-- it's a perfect way to get plugged into an inspiring non-profit while expanding your knowledge and enjoying some great food. We hope to see you there!
