Malala Yousafzai Girls' Secondary School: Mishaal's Second Annual Empowering Fundraiser
Mishaal will host a campaign that will culminate in an event. The event will be its annual Empowering the Forgotten fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. on November 17, 2012 to benefit Hoshyar, a non-profit organization based in Pakistan. Hoshyar aims to raise and distribute funds in support of human empowerment through female education. Empowering the Forgotten will take place in the Metcalf Ballroom at the Geroge Sherman Union at Boston University and aims to raise $20,000 with proceeds to serve as seed money for the Malala Yousafzai Girls’ Secondary School. The fundraiser will feature dance and vocal performances, including those by South Asian groups. Prior to the show, attendees are invited to participate in a raffle and silent auction for goods and handmade tribal carpets from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. South Asian appetizers will also be available.
