1001 Wells for Darfur Lecture from Dr. El-Baz
1001 Wells for Darfur is a group of Boston University students fundraising to build a 10,000 dollar well in BU's name in Southern Darfur. Dr. El-Baz, head of the Remote Sensing Department at BU, worked for NASA and developed a satellite that allowed him to discover underground water resources that could be utilized by building wells in rural areas. Come listen to Dr. El-Baz share his mission to raise awareness and help resolved the problem of the scarce water resources in parts of Sudan and the humanitarian affect it has on the people there. There will be a Q&A and reception with refreshments following the lecture.
