Boston Musica Viva "Allusions"

Program includes Curtis K. Hughes, Verbiage (world premiere); Arnold Schoenberg, Suite, Op. 29; and William Kraft, Settings from Pierrot Lunaire, Sarah Pelletier, soprano. Symbols and allusions abound in BMV’s second concert of the season. Schoenberg embeds melodic references to his wife in the dance-inspired Suite, Op. 29. Commissioned by the Arnold Schoenberg Institute for the 75th anniversary of Schoenberg’s masterpiece, Kraft’s Settings from Pierrot Lunaire uses a different selection of the Pierrot poetry cycle to colorfully conjure the protagonist’s surreal world. Boston composer Curtis K. Hughes contributes his world-premiere sextet Verbiage. Tickets are sold exclusively at Boston Musica Viva.
