Team Approach: Working Across Disciplines

As policy and practice increasingly focus on the necessity of comprehensive, coordinated care for older adults, social service and other care professionals increasingly are called upon to work as formal or informal members of a comprehensive geriatric care team. This timely course is specifically designed to prepare social service providers to use their skills and insight to become effective and valuable participants. The benefits and challenges of working on an interdisciplinary care team are stressed, along with the particular contributions and roles of the various team members. Case studies provide concrete examples, and bonus resources and background information are available for downloading throughout the course.
