BUworks Online Training Courses

BUworks online courses are available to all users’ assigned SAP security roles.  This training is available on Blackboard, the University’s Learning Management System.  All of the online training courses are now open so that users can take additional courses. The training is available in two folders: “BUworks” and “Online Courses Open to All Distributed Users”

If you go to “Blackboard Learning Management System” and select “Employee Learning Solutions”, you will see two folders:

  • “BUworks”: In this folder, you’ll find recommended Training Courses. They have been assigned to you based on your business roles and needs. We highly recommend that you take the courses in this folder.
  • “Online Courses Open to All Distributed Users”: In this folder, you will find all Online Training Courses. This will enable you to learn about, or prepare, for roles above and beyond those to which you are currently mapped.

In addition, Readiness Leaders can offer suggestions on additional courses which may be appropriate for your role.

The tests associated with these open courses are available to users, but you will NOT receive credit for taking these classes.

AP-04 basic Accounts Payable for Distributed Users

Description: This course trains you how to complete disbursement form, submit invoices for payment, identify lifecycle of an invoice, how to approve an invoice, look up invoices, and identify who to call in Accounts Payable.

BU-01 BUworks Overview

Description: This online course provides a comprehensive overview of the BUworks Program. Topics include program goals and objectives, a brief history and the anticipated benefits of the BUworks Program.

BU-02 The BUworks Central Portal

Description: This online course provides basic instruction on the BUworks Central portal, the primary SAP entry point for the majority of BU employees. Topics include:

  • What is the BUworks Central portal?
  • Who will use it?
  • Why are we using a portal as part of the BUworks Program
  • Realization that the portal may appear differently, according to your roles.

BW-01  BW – Basic Navigation

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide the audience with the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Describe a high-level overview of Business Warehouse (BW);
  • Identify key terms;
  • Identify Changes, Impacts and Benefits of the implementation of BW;
  • Navigate within BW;
  • Execute reports.

BW-02  BW – Advanced Reporting

Description: This course reviews high-level Business Warehouse process, identify key terms, and teaches you report result elements. You will learn how to manipulate reports, create exceptions/conditions, and create different report views.

CO-05 Internal Service Provider  

Description: The simulation will show you how to find the list of requests in the system. It starts from the Finance tab of the BUworks Central portal, ISR Fulfillment section. You learn how to complete process for ISR, post changes, and upload file with ISR.

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide both central and distributed team members with a high-level overview of HCM and how it impacts Boston University. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

PR-04 Shopping Cart Approvals

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide users with the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Describe the high- level Shopping Cart process;
  • List Responsibilities of Shopping Cart Approvers;
  • Describe  Criteria for Approve/Reject decision;
  • Business Rules and Guidelines;
  • What happens after approval vs. what happens after rejection;
