Training
Improvements to business processes and new software are not enough. To ensure ongoing competence and confidence in the new system and to deliver on its potential, a concentrated training initiative will be an important component of the implementation plans.
While the value of a comprehensive training program is recognized and understood, it is premature to outline a detailed plan at this stage of the BUworks project. The scope and magnitude of BUworks dictate that such a training plan be expertly developed, customized, refined, and delivered as the project progresses.
We envision the use of various delivery methods and formats, with training conducted in-house or by external agents, as appropriate and available for different purposes. We expect to conduct training through workshops, seminars, lectures, one-on-one sessions, knowledge centers, booklets, information sheets, and electronic self-paced tutorials. Many training sessions are expected to include creative simulations, interactive exercises, and tailored role playing, often in a sandbox environment to allow for uninhibited exploration of new features and functionality.
The project team will work with training specialists to design a strategic, multifaceted training plan, employing the most effective and appropriate formats for specific situations and circumstances. As a more detailed plan is developed and deployed, updated information will be posted in this section of the BUworks site.
