On Wednesday, April 4th, Boston University’s Sargent College is hosting the fourth annual Meredith E. Drench Lecture. This year’s lecture is presented by Travis Roy (COM’00), motivational speaker, activist and author. His book, Eleven Seconds, chronicles his 1995 accident (which left him paralyzed from the neck down), rehabilitation, and perseverance. He is also founder of the Travis Roy Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to finding a cure for spinal cord injuries and helping spinal cord injury survivors.
Established in 2009, the Drench Lecture Series is Sargent College’s first endowed lecture series. This series focuses on the psychosocial aspects of rehabilitation and aims to share Dr. Drench’s passion and belief in “compassionate rehabilitation” of the whole person.
This event will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Sargent College in Room 101, 635 Commonwealth Avenue. A reception will be held in the Setterberg Lounge following the lecture. This event is free and open to the public.
