BPS Superintendent to Speak at SED

<img src=”http://blogs.bu.edu/bunow/files/2009/09/carol.jpg” alt=”carol” width=”148″ height=”216″ />The <a href=”http://www.bu.edu/sed/” target=”_blank”>School of Education </a>Alumni Speaker Series is hosting an evening with the Superintendent of <a href=”http://www.bostonpublicschools.org/” target=”_blank”>Boston Public Schools</a>, <a href=”http://http://www.bostonpublicschools.org/node/109” target=”_blank”>Dr. Carol Johnson</a>, tonight beginning at 6 PM in the School of Education (Rm 130) at 2 Silber Way. The lecture, entitled “The Challenge and Promise of Teaching,” will discuss Johnson’s belief in equity and access to quality education for all children, regardless of race, gender or socioeconomic status. Psychology of Coaching Teams Conference

<p style=”text-align: left”><a href=”http://web.bu.edu/sed/iace.htm”>The Institute for Athletic Coach Education</a> (IACE) in the School of Education is hosting a 1-day <a href=”http://blogs.bu.edu/coaching”>conference</a> for coaches, directors, and and leaders of youth sport at the Agganis Arena from 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM.  Participants will meet coaching researchers, educators, and master coaches who will share insights and lessons from their experience.  Featured speakers include 2-time NCAA Coach of the Year <a href=”http://www.goterriers.com/genrel/parker_jack00.html”>Jack Parker</a> and Director of the IACE <a href=”http://efolio.bu.edu/portfolio/renderView.do?shareId=328″>John McCarthy</a>.  Please email coaching@bu.edu with questions.</p>

Educating for Citizenship
