At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st, literary magazine AGNI will host a party to launch its 75th issue and 40th anniversary at the Boston Playwrights’ Theatre. This celebration will start with a Robert Lowell “extravaganza” that includes a slideshow of never-before-released photos of the Boston native. Fanny Howe, Tom Sleigh, Lloyd Schwartz and many others will offer their reflections on the man and his poems. The release party, which is free and open to the public, will follow.

The Robert Lowell Memorial Lecture, which pairs a poet with a recent graduate of the Creative Writing Program, welcomed poet Henri Cole and alumna Sara Peters (GRS’08), introduced by three-time U.S. poet laureate and BU professor Robert Pinsky, on September 14:
The Creative Writing Program will host The Robert Lowell Memorial Lectures tonight at 7:30 PM in room 206 of the Photonics Center. The event will feature acclaimed poet and BU alum Carl Phillips, recent graduate Brandy Barents and professor Rosanna Warren. The lectures bring a distinguished writer to campus each semester to read alongside a member of the creative writing program faculty to celebrate the legacy of Robert Lowell’s poetry workshop at BU.
