Next week, a number of events will be hosted around campus in honor of World AIDS Day. Free HIV/AIDS testing will take place throughout the week: Tuesday, November 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the third floor of the George Sherman Union; Wednesday, November 30th and Thursday, December 1st from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.; and Friday, December 2nd from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Student Health Services. For all testing sessions, pre-registration is available in the GSU Link and walk-ins are also welcome.
On Thursday, December 1st, World AIDS Day information tables will be set up in the GSU Link from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. That night, at 7:30, “Global Meets Local” will take place in the Law Auditorium. This event will feature performances and testimonials from South Africa, as well as live footage.
On Friday, December 2nd from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore will interview MTV’s Georgia Arnold about her work with the Staying Alive Foundation. Their discussion will stream live from BU Central. Shortly afterward, Dean Elmore will host a Coffee and Conversation with Georgia Arnold in the Howard Thurman Center from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., which is free and open to the public.
