On Tuesday, November 29th, BU Today hosted a town hall-style discussion, “Hope and Change? A Conversation on the Obama Presidency.” The panel included Dean of the College of Communication Thomas Fiedler, journalism professor Robert Zelnick, and two undergraduate students, Tabitha Watson (COM’12, CAS’12) and Crystal Burrell (CAS’14). Dean of Students Kenn Elmore moderated the discussion, bringing in questions from the audience and live viewers on UStream, Twitter and Facebook.

Panelists discussed Obama’s gains and shortfalls in office, reflecting on his election, the country’s economic crisis, foreign policy, and national security. The Occupy Wall Street movement and the job market for college graduates were also touched upon.

Hope and Change? A Conversation on the Obama Presidency

On Tuesday, November 29th, BU Today will host  “Hope and Change? A Conversation on the Obama Presidency”.  The town hall-style discussion will focus primarily on the president’s relationship with young voters.  Moderated by Dean of Students Kenneth Elmore, the panel will feature Tom Fiedler, Dean of the College of Communication, journalism professor Robert Zelnick and Boston University students.     

The event will begin at 7:00 P.M. in the Terrace Lounge in the George Sherman Union.  It is free and open to the public and registration is required.  The discussion will also be broadcast  on the main Boston University UStream channel.  To participate in the conversation on Twitter use the hashtag #BUchat.
