Michael Hofmann, poet, translator, and author of Behind the Lines, reads a number of his poems and [...]translations as part of the College of General Studies and Boston University Humanities Foundation Poetry Reading Series. Hofmann has translated such German authors as Joseph Roth, Franz Kafka, Wolfgang Koeppen, and Durs Grunbein; his translation of The Film Explainer, a novel by his father, Gert Hofman, won the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize in 1995.
