Delvon Parker: Is Lean Past Its Prime

This study uses 25 years of panel data on 344 US manufacturing firms to investigate the following [...]three research questions regarding Lean Production:

1) Has the diffusion of Lean Production principles fundamentally changed the way manufacturing firms in the US structure their assets for operations?

2) What impact has employing Lean asset structures had on the financial performance of US manufacturing firms? 3) Are US manufacturing firms beginning to reach the limits of what Lean Production can deliver in terms of performance benefits?
