BU Today Sessions: The Alrighters - "Flim-Flam Shanahan"

The Alrighters are not your typical band. There are no guitars, and an unusually large percentage of [...]their songs are about food. Described by singer Andrew Galante as “a ’50s R&B meets punk” band, the Alrighters feature saxophonist Kim Kendicken, upright bassist Zeke Wheeler, and drummer Matt Schlaikjer.

When the lights go down and the sun rises, Galante, a senior production assistant at BU’s Creative Services, reverts from bombastic, dancing front man to a more subdued person working on bulletins in a cubicle. “It’s a great combo for me,” he says. “I can have a hobby and a job at the same time.”
