“The Arab Uprisings and Political Change in the Middle East.” - Melani Cammett

In January 2011, Tunisians ousted long-time president Zine el Abidine Ben Ali after a wave of [...]protests–in what became the first successful revolution of the Arab Spring. On October 23, Tunisia held its first free election to the Constituent Assembly. Prof. Cammett of Brown University reviewed the Tunisian revolution and compared it to the other Arab uprisings, while commenting on the results of the recent elections.
