To an overflow crowd at Boston University on September 21, 2012, Ambassador Zhong Jianhua, Special [...]Representative on African Affairs for the People’s Republic of China, defended China’s position in Africa and called on the international community to “be fair” in its assessment of China’s investment in the continent.
This was Ambassador Zhong’s first address in the United States on China-Africa relations, and he was hosted by BU’s African Presidential Center. In addition to delivering prepared remarks, Ambassador Zhong responded to questions from the audience, as well as participants from Morehouse College, Elizabeth City State University, and North Carolina A&T State University, who joined via video-conference.
The event was hosted by African Presidential Center Director, Ambassador Charles R. Stith, and the Q&A session was moderated by Dr. Nana Akua Anyidoho, African Presidential Center Distinguished Fellow and visiting faculty member from the University of Ghana, Legon.
