Master Clinicians and Theologians in Dialogue: Respondents Daniel Shaw and Celia Brickman

Daniel Shaw, psychoanalyst and supervisor at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies, in his [...]response to Dr. Wallin’s presentation, explores his own Jewish identity and involvement with Indian spiritual practices, reflecting on both the positive, problematic, and integrative aspects of his spiritual identities.

Dr. Celia Brickman shares aspects of her personal spiritual history, as well as considering a larger trend of clinicians with Jewish backgrounds moving toward Eastern religions and psychoanalysis.

Their presentations are the ninth in an eleven-part series from the Danielsen Institute’s 60th Anniversary Celebration, the 2012 Merle Jordan Conference, entitled “The Skillful Soul of the Psychotherapist: Master Clinicians and Theologians in Dialogue.”

Hosted by the Albert & Jessie Danielsen Institute on October 8th, 2012.
