BCAP Illuminates Athol Fugard’s “Mecca”

The chaotic, magical world of Athol Fugard’s The Road to Mecca was inspired by the life of the [...]late sculptor and free spirit Helen Elizabeth Martins, South Africa’s best-known outsider artist who committed suicide. A new production by BU’s Boston Center for American Performance – the professional wing of the School of Theater and directed by Judy Braha runs through March 5th at BU’s Lane-Comley Studio 210. In this slideshow, CFA students Andrea Gordon and James Fluhr combine an original score and magical set to create the “Mecca” of Fugard’s play.
