Footprints in the Sea: Detecting Human Impacts on Marine Ecosystems

Four Boston University Marine Program (BUMP) faculty speak as part of the College of Arts & Sciences Discoveries Lecture Series. John Finnerty, a CAS associate professor of biology and director of BUMP, Richard Murray, a professor of earth sciences, Robinson Fulweiler, an assistant professor of earth sciences, and Les Kaufman, a professor of biology and BUMP associate director, discuss detecting the human impact on marine environments and actions to protect and restore those ecosystems.

Finnerty speaks about his Coral Whisperer Project, Murray introduces the topics of carbon, climate, and ocean acidification, Fulweiler follows with nutrient cycling, and Kaufman finishes by covering coral reef ecosystems.
