The study of statistics and probability provides excellent preparation for those who plan careers as statistical researchers, probabilists, data and quantitative analysts in actuary, business, economics, law, government, social sciences, political science, education, anthropology, astronomy, biology, psychology, pharmacology, or medical sciences. The Department of Mathematics & Statistics offers the following programs:

  1. concentration in mathematics with specialty in statistics and probability (1701)

  2. joint concentration in economics and mathematics (1704) with some statistics courses

  3. minor concentration program in mathematical statistics (1702)

  4. minor concentration program in statistical methods (1702)

  5. BA/MA program in statistics (1701)

For details, see the listing under Mathematics.
