Film Studies

Minor Concentration in Film Studies (0606)

For information concerning the minor concentration in film studies, contact Professor Leland Monk, Department of English, 617-358-2532, lmonk@bu.edu. The minor is designed primarily for CAS students. Students in other Colleges should check with their College office to determine if the minor is available.

Six courses are chosen in consultation with the program advisor. A minimum grade of C must be achieved in all courses taken toward the minor concentration. CAS EN 175 is required and four of the six courses must be at the 300 level or above. Courses in other media than film (e.g., television) do not qualify for the minor.

Required Students complete CAS EN 175 and at least five other courses drawn from CAS LF 286, 556, LG 287, 453, LI 283, LL 382, LS 579, SO 345, COM FT 360, 457, 458, 533, 534, 535, 536, 553, 554, 563, 567. Other film courses may also qualify.
