Semester II 2008

Semester I: Fall 2007

August

8 Applications for September graduation.

16 Last day for continuing students to register/settle accounts without a late fee.

30–31 New Student Orientation and registration.

September

4 Instruction begins.

5 MTS and STM Comprehensive Exams due for September 2007 graduates.

10 End of registration (students who have not registered/settled accounts by this date will not be allowed to register for this semester).

11 Proctored Exam Date.

12 All theses due to STH library for September graduates.

17 Last day to WebReg.

17 Last day to add classes. Last day for BTI students to cross-register for class. Last day to request Pass/Fail option. Payment due for all new graduate students.

25 September graduation.

26 Applications due for January graduation.

October

8 Holiday, classes suspended.

9 Proctored Exam Date. Last day to drop classes without a “W” grade. Last day to change from credit to audit. Substitute Monday schedule of classes.

19 Homecoming/Parents Weekend, through Sunday.

24 Spring 2008 Semester Registration begins.

November

9 Last day to drop with a “W” grade.

12 Holiday, classes suspended.

13 Proctored Exam Date.

21 Fall recess begins.

26 Classes resume.

28 Last day to officially withdraw for Fall 2007.

December

11 Proctored Exam Date.

12 Instruction ends. All petitions due. Last paper due unless otherwise specified in syllabus.

14 Last day for continuing students to register/settle accounts for Spring 2008 without a late fee.

15 Final exams begin.

20 Final exams end.

January

2 Intersession begins, through January 17.

8 Proctored Exam Date.

9 Last day to submit final thesis and to pay associated fees to STH library for January 2008 graduates.

14 Martin Luther King Day, classes suspended.

16 Instruction begins.

21 Holiday, classes suspended.

23 End of registration (students who have not registered/settled accounts by this date will not be allowed to register for this semester).

25 Official January graduation.

31 Last day to add classes. Last day for BTI cross-registration. Last day to request Pass/Fail option.

February

12 Proctored Exam Date.

18 Holiday, classes suspended.

19 Substitute Monday schedule of classes.

21 Last day to drop classes without a “W” grade.

21 Last day to change from credit to audit status.

March

7 Last day to drop courses with a “W” grade. Last day to apply for May graduation for all degree programs.

8 Spring recess begins.

17 Classes resume.

18 Proctored Exam Date.

April

TBA Advising/Registration begins for Fall 2008.

15 Proctored Exam Date.

16 Last day to officially withdraw from Spring 2008.

21 Holiday, classes suspended.

23 Substitute Monday schedule of classes.

May

1 Instruction ends.

2 Reading period begins.

6 Proctored Exam Date. Final exams begin. Last day to submit final thesis and to pay associated fees to STH library for May graduates.

9 MTS and STM Comprehensive Exams due for May 2008 graduates.

13 Final exams end.

18 Commencement.

The academic calendar is subject to change. Students observing religious holidays on which classes are scheduled will be given ample opportunity to make up their work. Faculty members who wish to observe religious holidays will arrange for another faculty member to meet with their classes or for canceled classes to be rescheduled. The other Schools and Colleges of the University use calendars different from that printed here.
