Financial Information Students who register from 0–11 credits are considered part time and pay at the per credit rate ($1,142 per credit). Part time registrants also pay a $40 registration fee and a $40 program fee in addition to tuition. Students who register for 12–18 credits pay a flat, full-time tuition rate of $18,270 per semester. Full-time candidates may not register for more than 18 credits without written permission from the Registrar and their academic advisor. If granted this permission, they are assessed full-time tuition plus $1,142 per credit for each credit above 18 credits. Health InsuranceHealth insurance is required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for any student enrolled for nine or more credits per semester. Health insurance will be automatically assessed on the student’s account when they register for nine or more credits. The health insurance rate for 2008-2009 is $1,466. The waiver deadline is August 14, 2008, and once published the deadline will be firm. Do not neglect to deal appropriately with the insurance charge by the waiver deadline. For more information visit Student Accounting Services. Students registered for less than nine credits may request that insurance be added to their bill regardless of the number of credits carried. Payment & Payment DeadlinesFor new graduate students, the account payment deadline is September 15, 2008. The deadline for payment for continuing degree candidates for Fall 2008 is August 14, 2008. In verifying the amount due, students should use the Student Link to view their student account (see previous page), as it is likely that a printed bill will not be accurate. The Student Link displays the account in real time and is far more accurate. If a student has been awarded a scholarship from the School, it will be posted to the student’s account after registration is complete. Bills are due regardless of whether you receive a paper bill in the mail. Payments are made to Boston University, Student Accounting Services, 881 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA 02215. You may pay in person or by mail. Payment Options: Please see Student Accounting Services for complete information and options. SPH Tuition and Fees Costs 2008/2009
