Boston University’s Center for Professional Education (CPE) offers short,
high-quality, non-credit programs that
are specifically designed to meet the educational needs of professionals in such industries as financial services,
real estate, publishing, and law.

Certificate programs offered through CPE are comprised of a series of courses covering a coherent body of study in
a specific discipline. Students who complete the series earn a professional certificate, endorsed by Boston University. Select CPE programs can also help students satisfy educational requirements for professional certification exams or designations.

CPE students benefit greatly from working with faculty members who are not only scholars, but professionals with distinguished careers and proven expertise in their fields. These instructors bring real-world experience into the classroom, providing a combination of theory and hands-on learning that helps students develop their professional skills and their understanding of current industry technologies, techniques, and practices.

Offered online, the CMA Exam Preparation program prepares students for the Institute of Management Accountant’s (IMA) CMA exams, enabling them to earn the CMA designation.

Students who earn the CMA designation are eligible for two course waivers in the Metropolitan College online Master of Science in Banking & Financial Services Management (MSBFSM) degree.

Community, Legal & Medical Interpreting

The certificate programs in Community, Legal & Medical Interpreting are designed for multilingual professionals who speak, read, and write fluently in English and Chinese, Portuguese, or Spanish.
