An Overview Undergraduate Degree ProgramsMetropolitan College admits individuals to its undergraduate degree programs either as beginning students or as transfer students from other accredited collegiate institutions. Qualified students may apply for September, January, or May admission, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please note that applicants to the online Undergraduate Degree Completion Program may apply for January, March, May, July, September, or November admission. Those interested in degree-granting programs are urged to discuss their educational objectives with an academic counselor as early as possible. Appointments may be made by calling 617-353-2980. Specific policies regarding admissions criteria and conditions are available from Metropolitan College Undergraduate Student Services. In most cases, all forms, transcripts, and references should be received by Boston University in July for students who wish to be considered for September admission and in November for January admission. In some cases, candidates can also be accepted in May and begin their coursework in the Summer Term. Inquiries regarding the graduate programs and requests for applications should be directed to the individual programs. Master of Urban Affairs Undergraduate CertificatesMetropolitan College offers the opportunity for students who may or may not have bachelor’s degrees to concentrate on a small set of courses and earn a certificate. These certificates are awarded in a range of professional fields that help to promote skill development, career enhancement, and current professional knowledge. In many cases, these certificates may be integrated into degree programs. Undergraduate certificate applications are available at www.bu.edu/met/express, or may be requested from Undergraduate Student Services at 617-353-2980. The following academic, credit-bearing undergraduate certificates are available in classroom formats on campus: Biotechnology Graduate CertificatesMetropolitan College also offers several certificate programs designed specifically for students who already have bachelor’s degrees and appropriate prerequisites, and who wish to begin graduate study. For many students a graduate certificate is the first step toward pursuing a master’s degree. Metropolitan College graduate certificates integrate directly into existing master’s degrees, though acceptance to a certificate program does not guarantee acceptance to a degree program. Online ProgramsMetropolitan College, with the assistance of Distance Education, makes degree and certificate programs available worldwide through online delivery. These programs provide a unique degree of flexibility for students who maintain professional schedules or live in areas that would otherwise prevent them from pursuing higher education. All Metropolitan College online degree and certificate programs carry the full accreditation of on-campus programs at Boston University. Graduate Military ProgramsMetropolitan College offers degree programs at military facilities in North Carolina (MCAS Cherry Point and MCB Camp Lejeune/MCAS New River), Virginia (Henderson Hall), and Massachusetts (Hanscom Air Force Base).
