System Update

Less than 6 months to Go-Live!

Get ready! The DARWIN Discovery Series has begun. Our presentation series delivers a project update and demonstrates the key features of the DARWIN system specific to your department’s needs. Look for your department presentation if you want a sneak peek at the system before Go-live this summer.

The comprehensive DAR training plan will be announced in April. It features a “blended” approach of online and face-to-face role-based training. Currently the DARWIN team is assembling a task/role-based matrix to identify responsibilities and define staff training. Once these roles are established a scheduling strategy will be designed and publicized.

The DARWIN evolution is almost here! Legacy UIS, Sonar, Prospect Tracking and BI will be replaced by our new Blackbaud eCRM system: DARWIN. This means new training and new skills for you. Training and support are in place to make your transition as seamless as possible. Stay tuned for more information, or contact the DARWIN implementation team to begin your path to the future of Development and Alumni Relations constituent relationship and information management.

The DARWIN technology team is currently busy validating data and developing software and custom reports for the new system.
The following functional area design cycles have been completed:

  • Constituent Records
  • Revenue & Retention
  • Annual Giving & Direct Marketing
  • Alumni Membership & Events

The remaining two functional areas will be completed the first week in April:

  • Prospect Management & Planned Giving
  • Stewardship & Donor Relations

Next steps: We are preparing to test the system as it has been designed for BU. User acceptance testing will be underway March 28th-April 12th.
