Paula Menyuk Travel Award 2011

The Paula Menyuk Travel Award was established in honor of Paula Menyuk, Professor Emerita at Boston University’s School of Education and one of the founders of BUCLD, to assist student presenters at the Boston University Conference on Language Development by offsetting some of their travel expenses. The awards are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, as well as by private donations.

Several stipends of up to $300 will be awarded to students who attend the 2011 BUCLD, who are authors on accepted or alternate papers, and who demonstrate financial need. Preference is given to first authors who have not previously presented at BUCLD.

All applications must be submitted no later than October 7th, 2011 in order to be included for consideration.

Note: Notifications will be sent out to individuals as we process them.

For BUCLD 36, eligible applicants must:

  • Be an author of a paper or poster accepted for presentation or alternate status at BUCLD. Note that authors accepted (rather than alternate) papers or posters will be given priority. Be an undergraduate or graduate student of good standing in the fall semester of 2011. Note that post-doctoral fellows are not eligible.
  • Fill in and submit the application below. All application must be received by October 7th, 2011. Note that late applications will not be considered, regardless of the reason for their lateness. (*Letters of recommendation are NOT required and will not be read. Please do not send any other information.)

Payment Procedure:

The award recipient will receive a check in the amount of up to $300 after the conference.

The deadline for the Paula Menyuk Travel Award has passed. Please contact travel@bu.edu if you have any questions. Thank you.
