Regulation No. 8/5/PBI/2006 Concerning Banking Mediation

Regulation No. 8/5/PBI/2006 Concerning Banking Mediation, issued by Bank Indonesia, establishes a dispute resolution process supervised by Bank Indonesia under which the banking association would form an independent banking mediation institution to settle disputes between banks and their customers, with the intent to provide a simple, efficient, and speedy mechanism for small-scale customers and micro and small enterprise customers. Until the institution is established, Bank Indonesia will facilitate the banking mediation function. Bank Indonesia Circular No. 8/14/DPNP sets out the mediation procedure in detail.
