The Popular Savings and Credit Law (Ley de Ahorro y Crédito Popular) regulates popular savings and credit entities in Mexico. Provisions relevant to consumer protection include those creating a registry of deposit-taking institutions, mandating the distribution of information about financial services to the public, and setting certain penalties and fines for noncompliance.
