The Nepal Rastra Bank Act of 2002 (amended through 2006) provides for the establishment of the Nepal Rastra Bank to function as the central bank. Section 88 of this act creates a credit information center to be used for several purposes, such as obtaining information on the flow of credit and exchanging information amongst commercial banks and financial institutions.
