(enacted in 2008)

Legislative Decree No. 1045 Approving the Complementary Law on the Consumer Protection System (Decreto Legislativo No. 1045 Que Aprueba la Ley Complementaria del Sistema de Protección al Consumidor) amends and builds upon the Consolidated Text of the Consumer Protection Law (Supreme Decree No. 006-2009-PCM) (Texto Único Ordenado de la Ley de Protección al Consumidor). Provisions and amendments include those on truth in advertising, required information on effective interest rates, consumer contracts and credit, and deposit requirements. The Complementary Law on the Consumer Protection Law Addressing the Topic of Financial Services and the Consolidated Text of the Consumer Protection Law can both be found under “Related Laws/Regulations.”
