Guidelines on Introduction and Operation of Auditable Card Based Electronic Money Schemes in Tanzania

Guidelines on Introduction and Operation of Auditable Card Based Electronic Money Schemes in Tanzania of 2000 mention consumer rights, which include the right to be provided with all information describing:
(a) the service offered, the nature of the product, the rights, obligations and responsibilities of each party in the use and limitations of the service offered;
(b) the purpose of the payment card;
(c) the e-value loading limits and the procedures for loading e-value;
(d) how to use the card when performing any transaction at bank branches, from merchant POS, ATMs, etc.; and
(e) all costs related to payment card products in terms of entry/ annual fees, interest charges, renewal charges etc.
The issuer shall also provide the client with authenticated records of transactions and statement of accounts, minimally on a monthly basis.
