Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka Act No. 18 of 1990
(amended through 2008)
Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka Act No. 18 of 1990 established the Credit Information Bureau, a public-private partnership with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka owning a majority stake, and the rest held by lending institutions. The act permits borrowers and prospective borrowers to have access to their credit reports and penalizes any inappropriate disclosure of creditor information.
