Consolidated Text of the Consumer Protection Law (Texto Único Ordenado de la Ley de Protección al Consumidor, DS No006-2009-PCM) identifies the scope of financial consumer protection and the main mechanisms to pursue it in financial contracts. Disclosures and transparency requirements, and detailed rules for terms and conditions of financial contracts are detailed in the law, which also regulates the unilateral changes of terms and conditions in the contracts.
The Complementary Law to the Law on Consumer Protection, Addressing the Topic of Financial Services which complements this law can be found under “Related Laws/Regulations,” and the Legislative Decree No. 1045 Approving the Complementary Law on the Consumer Protection System which amends this law can be found under “Related Amendments.”
