BU Central on FacebookEveryone’s on Facebook, and everyone’s trying to get you to be their “fan”; join their group; go to their event; be their friend (even if you have no idea who they are)… Well, we’re on Facebook, too. But, like our mailing list, our Facebook accounts—the BU Central profile and the Fan page, all exist to provide faster and easier updates. We all know how disappointing it is to find out days later about an event you really wanted to attend. Hopefully, our use of Facebook can prevent that from happening to you. Don’t miss any anything! Facebook us! BU Central on FlickrLet’s face it—we like looking at rock stars. We scroll through photos of our favorite bands; either wishing to know them, see them live, or be them. And even if some of BU Central’s performers haven’t quite reached that status yet, they likely will. BU Central staff documents each event in photo albums—easily accessible on the BU Central Flickr site. BU Central on MyspaceAlthough Facebook is probably the most-used social networking site among students, Myspace is the most diverse and powerful online center of music activity, so, naturally we started promoting ourselves there first—And with Myspace’s ability to connect people within regional communities, and with their favorite performers, BU Central has endless possibilities. We can quickly and easily reach out to you on Myspace (and you to us), but our use of Myspace reaches beyond that: Do you have a favorite band you want us to know about? Contact us (on myspace or via other channels) and send us a link to the band’s Myspace. We’ll check it out, we swear! Not only do we communicate through the site, but we really do also use it to find new BU Central acts, and search for those you suggest to us. |
