As part of BUís First-Year Student Outreach Project (FYSOP), freshmen visited Barbara and John Brown of Acton, Mass., on September 3 to help with household chores, yardwork, and cleaning. John Brown has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrigís disease; the FYSOP trip was organized in collaboration with the Boston chapter of the social service organization Extra Hands for ALS.
