Fox Sports Net to air Terrier hockey

By Brian Fitzgerald

Fox Sports Net New England has reached an agreement with Boston University to televise 10 games of the 2001-02 hockey season.

As the largest regional cable network in New England, Fox Sports Net New England reaches more than 3.7 million households in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. "We are really excited about getting this much exposure for our hockey team through such an outstanding cable network," says Gary Strickler, BU's athletic director. "Fox Sports Net has always provided first-class coverage of college athletics."

Coverage of Terrier hockey begins on October 28 at 7 p.m., when Merrimack visits BU. Other games to be televised include UNH at BU on November 4 at 7 p.m., BU at Harvard on November 20 at 7 p.m., BC at BU on January 22, 2002, at 3 p.m., and Maine at BU on March 2, 2002, at 7 p.m.

Fox Sports Net will also cover Hockey East wild card games, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the championship game.
