On Friday, November 3, the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Sargent College graduated the second class from its certificate program in psychiatric vocational rehabilitation. From left, Fredric K. Schroeder, commissioner of the federal Rehabilitation Services Administration and graduation keynote speaker; Renee Harris, senior rehabilitation counselor at the Connecticut Bureau of Rehabilitation Services and graduation student speaker; Brenda Magowan, director of Tradewinds Clubhouse and Human Resources Unlimited in Massachusetts and graduation student speaker; and Carreen Reinhold, vocational rehabilitation counselor at the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission and graduation alumna speaker. The program is a one-year, part-time training program for practicing vocational rehabilitation professionals who, as Schroeder noted in his address, want to learn more about how to "help people with psychiatric disabilities believe in themselves and put their dreams into practice." The program graduated 20 students. Photo by Kalman Zabarsky
